About Us

What greater way to share God's love than to share the gift of clean water?

Ingomar Living Waters is an outreach ministry of the nonprofit
Ingomar Church of Pittsburgh, PA. Our vision is to enable the creation and care
of clean water solutions for communities in need worldwide.

Our Story

During the 2011 Advent season, our pastor, David Streets, shared a video produced by the Advent Conspiracy with the congregation of Ingomar Church. In it was this startling fact:

Americans spend $450 billion a year on Christmas and yet it would take only $20 billion—spent just once—to provide clean drinking water solutions to everyone in the world.

Pastor Streets challenged us to look beyond the commercialism, shopping and seasonal stress of Christmas and take a different path: He challenged us to make a difference in the world.

The congregation embraced this opportunity and responded with a resounding "Yes, we can make a difference!"

We decided to make a difference by providing clean water to those who do not have access to it.

Church offerings were dedicated to this new mission focus. Our congregation responded by contributing more than $100,000 in an initial three-month period, and Ingomar Living Waters was born.

Since its inception in 2011, Ingomar Living Waters has blossomed. The church and the community have given generously to this program, enabling us to support clean water solutions, sanitation facilities and hygiene education programs around the world.

This website offers a “living view” into the progress of the Ingomar Living Waters ministry, depicting wells we’ve built and people we’ve helped. We want every contributor to Ingomar Living Waters to know how much we appreciate their assistance and understand who they are helping throughout the world, as we work together to alleviate the root cause of poverty and early death worldwide by improving the access to clean water.

Our Mission

Ingomar Living Waters is driven to raise awareness of

  • The impact that clean, safe drinking water has on developing countries
  • The role that sanitation facilities have on sources of clean water
  • How personal hygiene reduces the spread of diseases.
We monitor and work directly with worldwide organizations that implement the programs required to provide clean water solutions, sanitation facilities and hygiene education to people in these countries.

Our Spiritual Calling

Ingomar Living Waters does not intend to replace the organizations that are on the ground delivering the solutions. Instead,
we seek to spread the word, much as Jesus spread the Word:

One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them
a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important
one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with
all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love
your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” [Mark 12:28-31 NIV]

What greater way to share God’s love than to share the gift of clean water
with our neighbors around the world.
Join us in spreading the Word to enable Ingomar Living Waters to accelerate the funding that
organizations need in order to deliver life-giving clean water solutions worldwide.
